AN ABC-Vitamin D FOR CHRISTMAS WELLNESS

admin News, Nutrition, Wellbeing / MindBodySoul

Here we are again, it’s Christmas!! and I’m sure many of you will be (are already) enjoying the festivities to full effect. Here are a few tips to keep you on the healthy side, ohhh your bosses are gonna love me!!

So it’s as easy as Vitamin A, B, C, D

1. DE-STRESS Easier said than done, “I know!” but long term stress can slow bowel function leading to constipation, as a result toxins build and back up making liver detoxification, fat loss extremely difficult not to mention life rather uncomfortable! Simple ways to de-stress include: Calming music, Epsom salt bath, Exercise, Dancing, Time with friends.

2 – VITAMIN A  Boosts immunity, lowers risk of infection and supports wound healing, so make sure you get plenty of what I like to call the A-TEAM! (sorry):Carrots, Sweet Potato, Kale, Cabbage, Wild Alaskan Salmon, Grass fed Beef.

3 – B VITAMINS If Vitamin A and its foods make the A-TEAM, B Vitamins would have to be the Mafia of the nutrition world…in a good way!?  Close knit, punchy, found in a plethora of places/foods, and they always, always, work as a family.  For example B12 is a potent flu fighter, B6 bolsters immunity, while B9 (folic acid) aids cell metabolism and immunity.  Eat the following: Herring, Mackerel, Sardines, Salmon, Dark leafy greens.
4 – VITAMIN C Otherwise known as Ascorbic acid is water soluble hence more reason to drink plenty of water and avoid diuretics like excessive alcohol, tea, coffee & sugar.  It’s also a potent antioxidant helping the body rid itself of free-radicals (cell harming particles) which attack healthy cells (incl. immune cells). Eat these foods to load up on C: Berries, Oranges, Lemons, Limes, Broccoli, Brussel sprouts.
5 – VITAMIN D Extremely well documented and a definite buzz word this year, is vital for the absorption of Calcium which helps prevent Osteoporosis by remineralization of bones.  It also supports a healthy immune system by modulating our Innate and Adaptive immune responses.  Very important because if this goes wrong, auto-immune diseases can be triggered.  Eat the following to enrich your D:  Eggs, Tuna, Mackerel, Salmon,

There you have it, easy tips to stay well…

SO UNTIL NEXT YEAR!
